Banquet Attendant

This guest service position works with servers, other attendants, kitchen staff, and special events staff to provide friendly, courteous service for all of Red Mile’s banquet, meeting, and special event functions.

  • Determine the number of tables need to set up function and proper set up of room; set-up room according to specifications; set tables by arranging place settings in accordance with prescribed procedures; set up banquet station, heat lamps, signs and easels and self-serve utensils; check and refill serving dispensers such as coffee/tea pots and condiment containers
  • Inspect glassware/china and silverware for cleanliness before using or storing; visually inspect equipment, fixtures, floors, etc. in assigned work areas to insure clean appearance and/or sanitary conditions.

  • Articulate specific menu items to guest on how items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
  • Process guest orders to ensure that all items are prepared properly and on a timely basis.
  • Communicate with front and back-of-house personnel to provide a dining experience that exceeds guest expectations.
  • Discuss operational problems and shortages or other problems with manager and/or supervisor.
  • Remove dishes, glasses, etc. from tables; clean and polish stainless steel equipment and fixtures; pick up litter or trash from public areas; perform clean-up tasks to insure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met.

·         Candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, enjoy and create a team environment.

·         Must be able to communicate in English; Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills are required.

·         Able and willing to work cooperatively with other team members.

  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays, as well as flexible shifts and hours due to business needs.
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills; position requires constant interaction with customers.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs., while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk.
